Civic Disposition Definitions  

Patriotism: having pride, respect, and love for your country no matter the time

Open Mindedness: to listen to others' beliefs, ideas, opinions, and not judge them

Negotiation and Compromise: talking out issues in order to accommodate others' needs as well as your own 

Civility: behaving properly toward others and give them the repsect they deserve

Compassion: the desire to see where someone is coming from and feel for people in a caring way

Critical Thinking: looking at ideas in multiple ways in order to make the best decision or find the best solution

Persistence: to keep doing something whether it is tough or other criticize you

Respect fot the Rights of other Individuals: understanding that others have as many rights as your do and treating them that way even if your don't agree with them

Respect for the Law: Obeying the laws that are made and understanding that that they are for a purpose even if you don't agree with them

Honesty: telling the truth no matter the consequences

Tolerance of Ambiguity: understanding that some things will not be familiar to me and that is okay

Civic Mindedness: to think about and care about what is best for the society as a whole

Courage: the willingness to stand up for what you believe in, even when other are against you
